Rev. (Dr) John Olakunle Ojo was born at Olla via Ejigbo, Osun State to the family of Revd. (Rtd.) J. B. Ojo and late Mrs. M. O. Ojo. He had his primary education at Baptist Day School, Olla and Emmanuel Baptist Day School, Isale Afon Ogbomoso respectively. He completed his primary education in 1983 and proceeded to Anglican Grammar School, Sabo, Ogbomoso. He studied Religious Studies at the Obafemi Awolowo University and graduated in 1997.
While a student at Obafemi Awolowo University, he gave his life to Jesus Christ in April 1992. It was after this that he felt God was calling him into the full time gospel ministry. Upon the completion of his Youth Service at Enugu State in 1998, he entered the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso for ministerial training and he graduated with Master of Divinity degree in June, 2001.
Rev. (Dr.) Ojo is deply interested in Children Ministry and Missions. As a student in the Seminary, he was called by Ajegunle Baptist Church, Agbowo, Ibadan as the Children/Education Minister. He was ordained into full gospel Ministry in October 2003. While in Ajegunle Baptist Church, he was involved in the Children Ministry of the Nigerian Baptist Convention as a Curriculum Writer as well as a resource person in children ministry seminars and workshops.
He got married to former Miss Rebecca Olufunke Balogun in April 2001. The union is blessed with two daughters; Precious Oluwadara Ojo and Marvelous Oluwaferanmi Ojo. He served in Ajegunle Baptist Church, Agbowo, Ibadan for a period of four years (April 1, 2001-March 31, 2005), and it was fromthere he was called as the Minister of Children & Youth by Good News Baptist Church, Surulere. He resumed in the Church on April 2, 2005.
